KICHE presents Here, Me, a two-person exhibition featuring HWANG Wonhae and KWON Hyun Bhin, on view from October 17 to November 16, 2024.
"Here" and "Me" mark the starting points of our perception, with time and place serving as essential coordinates. This exhibition delves into the materiality and (non-)place that the two artists explore, emphasizing these elements not simply as objects or locations, but as traces and continuities of events spanning from the distant past to the present. Central to the artists' practices is the notion of "distance from the subject." While their work closely engages with the physical properties of objects and spaces, both HWANG and KWON maintain a deliberate detachment, resisting the replication of representational imagery.
